Sometimes, the unexplained detour takes us on a different path. From an abdominal obstruction to colon cancer. I won the first battle. Slowly recovering from surgery. Attended a Chemo orientation yesterday. Overwhelming information of the journey ahead. I realize that faith, family, love, and friends will help me through all the pod holes on the road.

Dear: Bakersfield Adult School / Mr. Champagne
I am writing this letter to confirm my retirement from the position of GED Instructor at Lerdo. It will be kind of you if you would confirm my retirement date, June 04,2018.
It saddens me that I will have to leave such fine people. The years that I have worked for this school district are some of the best and most fruitful years of my life. I will be enjoying my retirement I am sure, but you will always be in my heart wherever I may go. Let me also take the opportunity to thank you and the staff for all the love and support that you had given me during my employment at Lerdo.
Thank You. God bless,
Raul R Rodriguez
The experiences of teaching inmates behind the block walls and bare wires fence. Getting closer to the end. Soon to be published.
Inspired by a friend to write and i have decided to finally take the path.
They said I was brave, but it was fear and luck that saved me. It was a stupid one that sent me into that backyard and that dog’s jaw. I remember like it was yesterday. We were jumped in the alley cause the idiots that owned us were moving and couldn’t have pets at their new residents. So, my sister Muffin dares me to go in the backyard and steal some food out of a tipped trash can. I made it to the can and grabbed a Pork Chop Bone. Making my get away, I was snatched off my paws and shook like a cloth. I thought it was over but a miracle happened. Some of my fur got in the dog’s nose and he sneezed. I went one way the Pork Chop Bone went the other.
I write 1000 words then I don’t write for weeks. I am lost and can’t find my direction again.
Preparing to teach GED Classes.
